DigiTVC Digitalization of the Textile Sector Value Chain
DigiTVC project focuses on supporting SMEs through a digitisation diagnosis and the promotion of three pilot projects with textile companies and start-ups. The results will be systematised in a protocol that will allow other companies to design their digitisation strategy using the most appropriate technologies. The Portuguese pilot is carried out at the company A. Sampaio & Filhos - Têxteis S.A. aio, having Smartex.ai as supplier of the digital solution.
The pilot aims at automatic inspection of knitted fabric through image processing and artificial intelligence techniques, in order to perform the inspection at the moment the knitted fabric is made and inspect the whole production. In the presence of a serious and repetitive defect, the system can stop the operation, allowing the anomaly to be corrected, reducing waste and improving the quality of the final product.
